Brisbane Racing Club has confirmed that it has agreed upon a major sponsorship deal between Australia-based Tabcorp and which is set to last until July 2020.

The gaming operator hopes to continue growing its sponsorship portfolio with the aim of brokering several more sponsorship deals with Racing Queensland.

Brisbane Racing Club’s Chairman Neville Bell emphasised that the new sponsorship deal demonstrates Tabcorp’s commitment to Queensland racing. He praised the new partnership, commenting: “This is an historic partnership for the Brisbane Racing Club and it shows Tabcorp’s willingness to invest in this wonderful racing product we have in Queensland.”

As part of the sponsorship deal, Tabcorp will become the presenting partner of the Brisbane Racing Carnival as well as holding the position of the naming rights sponsor of the Brisbane Racing Club’s three premier Group One sprints held at both Eagle Farm and Doomben.

Racing Queensland’s chief executive Brendan Parnell noted that this deal would be the first in the state’s racing industry, and expects many more deals to follow. He added: “RQ is thrilled to see Tabcorp jumping out of the stalls with a significant sponsorship.

“Under the agreement struck by Racing Queensland with Tabcorp last year, our codes can expect to prosper further with additional announcements on the horizon.

“This includes a raft of sponsorship agreements across our regional and metropolitan TAB race clubs, which is poised to embed the TAB brand back … and enhance the Queensland racing industry as a whole.”

In addition to the sponsorship deal, Bell said Tabcorp would be providing capital investment across Eagle Farm and Doomben that would include improvements to betting facilities.
