Ray Parlour: with transfers and time Emery can take Gunners forward

At this year’s London Affiliate Conference (LAC), InsiderSport spoke to Arsenal legend Ray Parlour, who amongst other things revealed what it’s going to take for the Gunners to get back to being realistic title contenders, as well as how important it is that new manager Unai Emery is given time and transfer windows.

Affectionately known as ‘the Romford Pele’, the ex-Arsenal man also revealed how much he has enjoyed working with growing online, sportsbook and casino ComeOn. Providing the site with weekly Premier League predictions and insight.

When asked about whether he feels his old boss Arsene Wenger will return to management, the former midfield general emphasised: “He is a football man, he loves day-to-day football, training everyday. He’s a magnificent Manager and now he’s had that time out, I’m sure next season he will be looking at the opportunities.”

Parlour acknowledged that his old side aren’t currently on the same level as Manchester City or Liverpool, but outlined that if “they can bring the right players in and Emery can get the best out of the players they have already, then hopefully they can get better”.

He added that the side is roughly where he anticipated they’d be at this stage of the season: “Fifth or sixth place, hopefully the Europa League can be very important for them going forward, if they can get to the final of that, which they nearly did last season, then it can be a successful season.”
