Online sports betting brand, Interwetten has been announced as an primary partner of VfL Wolfsburg.

The deal means the operator will be the official sports betting partner of the German top division side.

Interwetten Speaker of the Board Dominik Beier commented on the partnership: “Sport is an essential driving force for us and one that we support through a variety of sponsorship deals. In VfL Wolfsburg we have managed to find a very interesting partner. The high levels of professionalism at the club, as well as their digital approach and willingness to be flexible and creative in our dealings together, are what won us over.

“In sporting terms things have been going very well for the club lately and they’ve made it into the UEFA Europa League. What brings VfL Wolfsburg and Interwetten together is the desire to work in an innovative way, develop new products and constantly move forward. We are looking forward to an active and successful cooperation.”

Interwetten will benefit from widespread exposure, including LED TV pitchside advertising, Cam Carpets in the Volkswagen Arena and hospitality benefits.

VfL managing director Michael Meeske added on the deal: “We are delighted to have acquired an international partner of real note in the German-speaking sports betting market in the form of Interwetten, whose offer really sets the standard in the sector.”

The Wolves kick off the new campaign at home to newly promoted, FC Koln, this campaign also marks Wolfsburg’s return to the European stage, with club securing a Europa League place last season.
