Southampton Football Club has named Vitality as its health and wellness partner ahead of the club’s Premier League campaign.

The partnership will centre around inspiring healthy living to supporters with both entities collaborating on a range of campaigns promoting wellbeing. Southampton have also confirmed that members of the insurance firm and clubs fans will gain access to club-related benefits throughout the 2020/21 season as a result of the agreement.

David Thomas, Chief Commercial Officer at Southampton Football Club, commented: “We are very proud to announce a new partnership with Vitality.

“They are a business we admire and their stand-out approach to encourage active behaviours and rewarding customers who live healthier lives is something that sets them apart from their competitors in this space.

“We are particularly excited by their commitment to activate the partnership across our women’s team and look forward to working together.”

The agreement will cover both the men’s and women’s game with Vitality working with Southampton to ‘inspire more girls and women to try football, other sports and physical activity.’

Neville Koopowitz, CEO of Vitality, added: “We are pleased to be partnering with Southampton Football Club for the next season. The partnership crosses both the men and women’s teams and we will work closely with the club to drive visibility of both the women and men’s game and support people to live more active and healthier lives.

“Our commitment to the women’s game with the club, recognises the stark difference in how physically active men and women are and how COVID-19 has further exacerbated this. There has never been a more important time for us all to get behind women’s football, and we hope by working together with Southampton Football Club we can start to address this gender play gap by inspiring many more women and girls to keep and stay active.”

Southampton continues to develop its commercial portfolio before the start of the Premier League campaign on September 12. Most recently the club secured a new front-of-shirt sponsor in Sportsbet.io following the early exit of LD Sports.

Viatlity has also agreed partnerships with AFC Bournemouth Women, Crystal Palace FC Women and Men, Leeds United Women and Men, Leicester City Women’s FC and Newcastle United Women to signals the firm’s ongoing commitment to women’s sport.
