DAZN links with Tsunoda and Scuderia AlphaTauri for F1 offering

DAZN has designated Japanese Formula One driver Yuki Tsunoda as its new ambassador, in a deal that will see the streaming service collaborate with the racer and his Scuderia AlphaTauri team on original content.

Tsunoda, who is the series’ first Japanese driver in seven years, will sport the firm’s logo on his cap, whilst the two will collaborate on content which will be made available to subscribers in the country.

Content will include exclusive team news, insights and analysis to boost DAZN’s live and on-demand Formula One offering in Japan.

AlphaTauri Team Principal, Franz Tost, remarked: “We understand how passionate Japanese fans are about Formula One and we’re excited to be able to provide exciting and exclusive content to DAZN’s subscribers.

“This year – especially with Yuki Tsunoda driving for us – we want to interact more with our growing Japanese fanbase, and this partnership allows us to immerse our fans fully into the team, through engaging behind-the-scenes content across an F1 weekend.”

Through the agreement, DAZN – which launched in 2016 in Japan – customers in Japan will benefit from an ‘exclusive’ annual subscription pass, whilst gift packs will give customers access to competition and virtual or in-person meet and greets with Tsunoda and teammate Pierre Gasly.

The 2021 Formula One season gets underway at the Bahrain International Circuit later this month.
