South African rugby union international Tendai Mtawarira has been named as World Sports Betting’s (WSB) official ambassador.

The Springboks prop will collaborate with the WSB team on a range of marketing activations, producing original content across various platforms to mark the global brand’s continued support of the sport in South Africa.

“World Sports Betting is a brand that people associate with integrity and their product offering is mind-blowing,” Mtawarira commented. “My personal brand is very important to me and I am very proud to be stepping into this role as an ambassador for such a great company.”

The 35-year-old, who is nicknamed ‘The Beast’ among followers of the sport, made his debut on the international stage against Wales in 2008 and went on to become the most capped prop in South African history.

He also goes down as the 17th most capped forward and fifth most capped prop of all time, having won the coveted Rugby World Cup title in 2019.

“Fans can look forward to seeing lots of great content from the partnership,” added Ryno Du Plessis, Head of Marketing at WSB. “Television advertising, our ‘Best Bets’ campaign, rugby insights, public appearances and more are already on the agenda.”

WSB holds licenses in four gaming licenses in all four provinces in the region – KZN, Gauteng, Eastern and Western Cape – with the sports and racing betting platform offering customers a safe and reliable experience.
