NBA forms new entity to oversee African growth

The Balkan International Basketball League (BIBL/Balkan League) has extended its partnership with Delasport, with the firm continuing to serve as the principal partner of the regional tournament.

As a result of the contract renewal, the online sports betting and casino technology provider will serve as the primary sponsor of the Balkan League for the 2021/22 season, gaining brand exposure via the league’s YouTube streams as well as coverage by national broadcasters in Bulgaria, Israel and Kosovo.

A FIBA-recognised pan-national professional basketball tournament, the Balkan League sees the leading professional clubs from Bulgaria, North Macedonia, Montenegro, Kosovo, Albania, and Israel compete to be crowned the best team in the region.

BIBL Sports Director, Shay Shtriks, commented: “We are delighted to be working with Delasport, such a high-profile sponsor. We can expand and establish a minor league and spread the love of sport further by working together. We are all striving for professionalism, and this sponsorship takes things  to a new level.”

The Balkan League, which first partnered with Delasport in October of last year, begins its 2021-22 season on 12 October and will feature 11 Balkan basketball teams competing in over 90 matchdays.

“The Sponsorship of the Balkan league is a natural step for us as sports is embedded in our DNA, and we are passionate about it,” remarked Oren Cohen Shwartz, Delasport’s CEO.

“At Delasport’s, we embrace sport values like professionalism, excellence, and dedication, we love sport, and it is great to collaborate with the Balkan League. We wish all the teams a great season.”
