US Ski & Snowboard has announced a collaboration with Delta Air Lines, which sees the company return as the organisation’s official airline partner through 2023.

The deal means that Delta will support athlete training and competition travel, as well as launch a series of female empowerment initiatives as the founding partner of the US Ski & Snowboard Women’s Mentorship Program.

US Ski & Snowboard Chief Revenue Officer, Michael O’Conor, commented: “Delta has been a key asset to our team throughout our history together and we are thrilled to have rekindled our relationship with them ahead of an important Olympic season.”

The partners have stated that they will place a focus on the implementation of several female empowerment initiatives embodying spirit, strength and inclusion.

“We are looking forward to our new activations with this partnership, including our new female empowerment initiatives. We are excited to collaborate with Delta to help maximise overall sport inclusion, athlete support and advocating for women’s equality within the sports industry,” O’Conor added.

The US Ski & Snowboard Women’s Mentorship Program aims to pair women from the team with women at Delta to meet monthly.

Furthermore, the brand will also create content with athletes and host community events, as Delta also supports individual athletes, including seven-time World Cup podium alpine skier Breezy Johnson, as well as five other Olympic and Paralympic hopefuls.

“We are thrilled to rejoin U.S. Ski & Snowboard ahead of the Olympic Winter Games 2022 to assist with athlete travel and the Women’s Mentorship Program,” noted Molly Battin, SVP, Global Brand Marketing at Delta.

“With years of experience working with the team under our belt, we know that each year will be better than the last in improving athlete experience as they go for gold.”

In a further boost of its presence within sports, Delta has also become the airline partner of the US Olympic and Paralympic Committee (USOPC) and will commute Team USA athletes to the Olympic Winter Games Beijing 2022 directly to and from Beijing on charter flights.
